About Lorestan University
Lorestan University commenced its activities in 1977 as the "Lorestan Higher Education Center," affiliated with Jundishapur University of Ahvaz, admitting 100 students in the fields of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology at the undergraduate level. After the revolution, it separated from Shahid Chamran University of Ahvaz and continued its work independently under the title "Lorestan Higher Education Complex." In 1988, the comprehensive plan for Lorestan University was compiled and approved by the Ministry of Culture and Higher Education and the Planning and Budget Organization. The executive activities for the construction of the university began in 1990, and finally, in 1993, it was upgraded to Lorestan University.
Faculties
Faculty of Literature and Humanities
This faculty has 12 academic departments and over 80 full-time faculty members. According to the latest statistics provided by the faculty's website, 1995 students are studying in this faculty.
Faculty of Agriculture
This faculty was established in 1994 in the south of Khorramabad. This faculty has 10 academic departments, and according to the latest information provided by the faculty's website, 1800 students are studying in this faculty.
Faculty of Basic Sciences
This faculty has 78 faculty members, and 11 undergraduate, 24 master's, and 16 doctoral programs are taught in this faculty.
Faculty of Engineering
The Faculty of Engineering was established in 2003 and has 8 academic departments.
Faculty of Veterinary Medicine
This faculty was established in 1993 with a foundation of 6000 square meters. Currently, more than 12 different educational programs are taught in this faculty.
Faculty of Management and Economics
This faculty started its work in 2005 with two fields and currently has 16 faculty members.
