Center for International Academic Studies and Cooperation

The Center for Studies and International Cooperation of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology has so far financially supported nearly 800 joint international research projects, and this year it is possible to allocate an amount equivalent to 2,000,000,000 billion Rials to a number of special projects for support. The Center for Studies and International Scientific Cooperation of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, as the custodian of international research activities of the Ministry of Science and as the coordinating authority for membership in some international organizations and assemblies such as the Abdus Salam International Center for Theoretical Physics, the Network of Scientific Organizations of the Third World, the Academy of Sciences of the Third World (TWAS), has been active, and has been the secretariat of centers such as the Science and Technology Networks of Islamic Countries, the Council of Scientific Poles of the Country, the Commission of Accelerators and Knowledge-Based Products. In addition, in 2015, the program for evaluating the international identifiers of universities and higher education and research institutions of the country was launched with the aim of strengthening and promoting the country's position in the world through the expansion of international scientific relations. Under this program, the annual evaluation and preparation of performance reports on the international scientific activities of higher education and research centers and science and technology parks of the country have been assigned to this center. Considering that one of the main goals of the center is to expand and facilitate scientific communication between Iranian universities and research centers and international scientific centers in the world, programs such as Jundi Shapour (joint cooperation program between Iran and France), the joint cooperation program between Iran and the countries of the world (ICRP), the Pietro Della Valle program (joint cooperation program between Iran and Italy), the program to support international cooperation for the development of applied research (ICARD), the international cooperation program for the development of education (ICSD) are designed and being implemented. In this regard, every year, based on the needs of the country, a number of proposed projects that the faculty members of the Ministry of Science present to this center are financially supported in the mentioned formats. The center also tries to strengthen scientific cooperation by financially supporting doctoral students to participate in international conferences and holding training workshops and regional and international conferences, to increase familiarity with the views of thinkers from all over the world and to establish communication between them and researchers inside the country.
