Jundi Shapur Research Program

Jundi Shapur Research Program

The Center for Studies and International Scientific Cooperation, in collaboration with the Cultural Cooperation and Activities Department of the French Embassy in Iran (SCAC), implements the Jundi-Shapur research program. This program, initiated in 2004, aims to enhance and expand advanced scientific, technical, and research collaborations between researchers from Iran and France. The program encompasses joint research projects between Iranian and French groups across all fields, particularly in humanities and social sciences (law, economics, and management), medical sciences, basic sciences, environmental sciences, and biology. The call for proposals for joint projects between the two countries is simultaneously announced in Iran by the Center for Studies and International Scientific Cooperation and in France by Campus France. Applications for joint research projects (ongoing or new projects) are reviewed concurrently in both countries. The final evaluation is conducted by a joint committee from both countries. Upon approval of a joint project, the travel expenses of the Iranian party to France are covered by the Center for Studies and International Scientific Cooperation, and the travel expenses of the French party to Iran are covered by Campus France. In return, an annual progress report on the project and activities, including the publication of articles and dissemination of research results, is provided to the Center, and the Center for Studies and International Scientific Cooperation, as well as the Cultural Department of the French Embassy, are acknowledged in the published articles. It is noteworthy that the funding and budget for the joint research projects are the responsibility of the relevant institutions and organizations, and the Center only supports the connection between the scientific centers of the two countries. The Center prioritizes the following criteria when selecting projects for the Jundi-Shapur program: * Projects that include training at the doctoral or post-doctoral level; * Projects that facilitate collaboration among several different Iranian and French laboratories or institutions; * Projects that contribute to development, especially socio-economic development.
